1. Zoning change – Public Hearing and passage of Bylaw 1330.05 – Land under Firehall Bistro zoned incorrectly in first draft of new zoning bylaw. Council has now corrected the zoning so that all provisions of the original designation still stand.
2. Bylaw 1337 – 5 year Financial Plan postponed passage – some change needed to conduct infrastructure work in the Tuc-el-nuit Lake area
3. Board of Variance Bylaw 1338 – passed
4. Capital Budget – reallocation to Operations – some items deemed to be operational in nature and not part of Tangible Capital Assets
5. Siting of Federally Licensed Medical Marijuana Production facility in Oliver – council discussed and interested party to be informed Town is awaiting an application – but land uses in industrial area will not be adjusted in a blanket way. Discussion centred on: is the industry agriculture in nature?, will tax incentives apply?, how would an agricultural land use assessment affect the amount of taxes to be raised?
6. Presentation by Lori Motluk, Interior Health Authority on aging population and initiatives to bring better care to patients. The amount of people living in this area in the age range of 45 to 74 and beyond is significantly higher than the provincial average so demands on care are higher and the amount of chronic disease seen is elevated. The presentation centred in on changing hospital care to home care which is deemed to be better and less costly
