Walking and cycling along Penticton’s Okanagan Lake waterfront will be safer and more accessible thanks to a $1.2-million contribution from the Government of Canada through the Gas Tax Fund.
The walkway along the west side of the Okanagan Lake waterfront linking Winnipeg Street to Riverside Drive will undergo reconstruction this spring. The pathway will have a smoother surface, enhanced access for those with mobility challenges, additional trees and new high-efficiency lighting. These improvements will make the pathway more inviting to pedestrians and cyclists while preserving the natural beauty of the waterfront.
AND someone brilliant at Penticton City Hall has got rid of the hills and valleys at Lakawana Park. Most people didn’t know what the hill sculptures were for but they destroyed the view – GONE. Good.
