Court records online show 54 year old Lloyd Cook appearing in a provincial court room in Prince George with the judge handing out two concurrent sentences on failing to appear and a term of 137 days tacked onto what was given to him on the main sentence of 5 years.
Three charges had been laid – one in Prince George, one in Oliver and one in Penticton after he failed to appear in court for his verdict on serious criminal charges.
The Penticton charge received a stay of proceeding – and the other two resulted in the concurrent sentences.
Cook was a no show last month for B.C. Supreme Court Justice Glen Parrett’s verdict following a 7 trial related to the 2000 death of a 13 year old son of his girlfriend.
He was found guilty of unlawful confinement and an indignity to a dead body.
He was apprehended in Osoyoos on the 11th of February and sentenced to a total of five years in jail for the incident in 2000.
