Cathy Hodge and father Dave Whalley attended a public display at the Oliver Community Hall Tuesday evening.
The South Okanagan Similkameen Conservation Program (SOSCP) is presenting the Regional Biodiversity Conservation Strategy- Keeping Nature in Our Future throughout the area and Oliver had its turn Tuesday.
Funded by the Regional District, Real Estate Foundation and other contributors, Keeping Nature in our Future is a practical resource, developed in partnership to support local and senior governments in achieving sustainability objectives.
Organizer Bryn White says the crowd was larger than expected – the third in a series of such gatherings in the Regional District.
White says visitors so far have been critical of some Regional Board decision made on land matters outside the core areas.
Planner Malcolm McNaughton says he hopes the document will be reviewed by all APC’s in the RDOS and then brought to the Board table where it could be adopted into policy.
