In a report to the Parks Board Manager Bob Grant states:
There are four places I looked at, of a similar size to Oliver that have an indoor pool.
District of Lillooet – annual revenue $35,500 – operational cost $106,000
City of Merritt – annual revenue $210,000 – operational cost $780,000
Summerland – annual revenue $295,777 – operational cost $521,000
City of Kimberley – annual revenue $313,398 – operation cost $832,515
The revenue to cost ratio ranges from 26% to 56% which results in a high level of subsidy from general taxpayers who may never use such a facility.
