This morning Premier Christy Clark toured the Penticton Regional Hospital and took a first hand look at the conditions in the facility. Her response to her tour guides was that they have to get on with the Business Case and get the process – “off stall”.
The RDOS and Interior Health have spent a lot of money getting a conceptual plan in place and the sooner the tower is approved – the sooner it is built. 800 people met Wednesday in Penticton to make that point.
Penticton Mayor Dan Ashton says the Premier toured the hospital with MLA Bill Barisoff, a group of doctors and other parties focused in getting an ambulatory patient care tower built at a cost of $300 million.
Barisoff says this is very positive news that the Premier has shown her concern, visited the hospital, toured the facility given the GREEN light to the project.
What does that mean? Are funds available? No to the second question but all concerned said they were happy with the government response and interest.
