1. Text amendment given three readings for rezoning bylaw 1330.05 6077 Main Street – Firehall Bistro property – now goes to public hearing February 25th 7pm in Council Chambers
2. Board of Variance Bylaw revised allowing for the appointment of three persons when such a body is needed. Oliver has had no board of variance or requests for such in twenty years.
3. Town will proceed with application for land tenure on south west quadrant of hike and bike trail. A local civic organization had agreed to funding a project and the Oliver Parks and Recreation Society has said they will maintain it. Council was quite specific in stating the land tenure is for a paved strip only similar to the other three parts of the circle walk. Any planned exercise areas will be on land presently controlled by the Town/RDOS.
4. Council passed its Five Year Financial Plan which allows permissive tax exemptions in the amount of $137,272 – mainly to churches and not-for profit organizations. The town will raise over $10 million dollars for expenditures in 2013.
