A Supreme Court of BC injunction has been served on the owner of a large piece of valley bottom land that contains many many old car, trucks and derelict vehicles on Island Way Road – the property owned by Gary Cook.
The injunction calls for the removal of 75 cars prior to May 31st, and all but 2 cars prior to July 31st.
If the first part of the order is not completed by the owner the RDOS is free to return to court for an order for a contractor to remove the vehicles.
Director Allan Patton says he is happy the court is helping with this matter and he is hoping a second court case for a property across the road will also be finalized to clean up the area and the environment
