The Hornets were unable to sustain and 8 point 3rd quarter lead as they fell to an inspired perfomance by Maggie of Penticthon. The Mustangs led by 2 at the half, a lead which the Hornets were able to erase by the end of the 3rd as they led by 8. This is the first time in 6 years that the Hornets have lost at home to the Mustangs and only their 3 rd loss over those years to their rivals from the North. It is also the first time in 7 or so years that Hornets will not be playing in the zone finals. The Hornets will now play OK Mission of Kelowna on Thursday night at 6:30 for the final berth to the valley championships. The team was led by Parm Sidhu and Gurk Dhaliwal with 19 points, and Amit Chahal had 16. Jivan Gill was a work horse as tried to will his team to victory, as he added 9 points. The crowd was great and we are looking for that type of support on Thursday night. Go Hornets!
