15 weeks to go – what can happen in that amount of time?
Linda Larson will be endorsed by party members in Oliver Feb 2nd and her campaign is off and running
The NDP candidate, and there will be one, will be nominated within three weeks and that campaign will be off and running.
It is predicted that no independent, Green Party or Conservative Party candidate will run or establish an active campaign.
The election campaign will be right versus left, an opposition party seeking power and an incumbent government hoping to hold on to power.
The Liberals are fund raising in Alberta and the NDP will bring in the top guns from across the country as foot soldiers.
There will be negative ads from at least one party – Adrian Dix says that is not his style – so we shall see just how desperate it gets in the months ahead
It’s about power.
It’s not really about a reflection of what the people want or governments would be popular (as in popular vote)
It’s about power.
Tuesday May 14 – E day – a provincial election – time for the people to speak. This election will see a lot less ra ra ra (singing and happy dancing) – so far it has been dirty and I predict it will get even dirtier before its over. A lot of sweat and grey faces before the results are announced.
It will be better than a hockey final. A nail biter.
The polls now say the leaders and the parties have various positions – but the final poll is election day and it will be a tight fight.
If there ever was a time to commit to a party, to a candidate – this is it.
Time to stop talking to the TV and show you understand that elections are won the hard way – door to door, on the street, billboards, lots of ads, brochures, lawn signs.
And money.
