Tuesday evening the Soroptimist of Osoyoos, Kate Krist and Joan Wilson both of Oliver presented a cheque for $1,500 to Veronika Schrank of Penticton.  Veronika is the 2013 recipient of the Women’s Opportunity Award.

The Women’s Opportunity Awards program assists women who provide the primary source of financial support for their families by giving them the resources they need to improve their education, skills and employment prospects.

Since the awards program began in 1972 approximately $30 million has been disbursed to assist tens of thousand of women achieve their dreams of a better life for themselves and their families.
