Current Town of Oliver councillor and former Mayor, Linda Larson told an open televised meeting Monday she will run in the May provincial election for the Liberal Party.
The BC Liberal Party is expected to formalize the announcement this week following the decision of MLA John Slater to sit as an independent member of the legislature.
Background from previous story: “My husband Larry and I moved to Oliver in 1989. We owned 3 businesses in Oliver between 1989 and 2002, Eastside Grocery, Stedmans V/S and Ruffled Edges.
I was on Council as Mayor from 1997 to 2005. I am an active volunteer with many Provincial, Regional and Local Organizations.”
Linda is currently the President of Community Futures – Okanagan Similkameen – appointed to that board in 2006. Larson served six years on the BC Government’s Small Business Roundtable.
