A number of organizations and local residents have indicated that snowal removal from road and sidewalk has worked well for them in 2012-2013.
The budget figures for 2012 show the amount of money that has been spent because of the extra work.
(Snow & ice removal labour) – 2012 was budgeted for $40,600 and it came to $61, 813.
(Snow & Ice removal materials – 2012 budget for $15,225 and it came to$15, 891.
(Snow Removal labour on equipment) – 2012 budget for $4,316 and came in at $4, 752.
(Snow Removal parts/supplies for equipment) – 2012 budget for $3,838 and came to
$3, 411
Final figures for 2012 not in. The season of plowing is not over yet. The Town of Oliver is quick to point out that it has a reserve for snow removal and in any year there is a lot of work – the over budget amount is covered by the reserve.
