On December 18 the Fortis lines that serviced this site were knocked down by heavy snow at Road 13. A gas generator kicked in and ran for some time and the batteries took over when the gas tank emptied.  Fire dispatch from Kelowna was affected but service to local fire departments continued on a limited basis with a back up service. The power problem may not be completely fixed until late spring when access is better. Fortis is looking at options according to staff at the RDOS.
