John Slater to run again
Posted on October 1, 2012
MLA for Okanagan Boundary John Slater confirmed September 30th he will run again in the next election. Slater said he wanted to wait until the end of the month before announcing his intentions and did so at the Festival of the Grape at Oliver on Sunday.
Slater addressed the Festival attendees during the opening ceremonies and met with many of the crowd during the warm afternoon.
Slater says he is waiting for the riding association to make the announcement officially and that should come this week. The MLA says he has been very busy in the last few weeks with government business on a number of committees, a family funeral and the annual conference of the Union of BC Municipalities in Victoria.
Slater says he is proud of his record at representing the interests of the local area and looks forward to the election contest in the spring of next year.
Zach Poturica, Boundary-Similkameen BC Liberal Riding Association President says “Its my understanding that John wishes to make an announcement regarding his future no later than the end of the month. At that time the Riding Association will ensure that you get an official release outlining what his decision will be.”
