1. Public Hearing Tuesday night 7pm at the Elks Hall ( 477 Bank Avenue ) on new bylaw to regulate land use in Manufactured Home Parks
2. Delegation at Monday’s Council Meeting – Sgt. Ken Harrington who toldĀ councillors that the Oliver detachment is operating without 4 constables in its full compliment of 7 on- the-road officers. He says the detachment should be up to full strength by summer of 2013. A number of officers have left for other postings or are on leave. Sgt. Harrington says the staff are doing a good job of local police coverage.
3. Land Matters – most housekeeping and minor adjustments:
a. Development Variance on property at 112 Willows Place
b. Manufactured Home Park Regulations Bylaw 1327
c. Zoning Amendment Bylaw 1330.01 Desert Hills
d. Zoning Amendment Bylaw 1330.02 housekeeping changes all given approval.
4. Sewer Parcel Tax and Rates bylaws – final approval given
5. Oliver Hotel Market Student received by council and made available to the public. It was pointed out that the study proves the case that Oliver could use a hotel 75-100 rooms and that a number of parcels of land near the highway are available for development. Oliver Town council will decide in January how to take the study to the hotel industry – hoping to attract proposals for development.
6. Council will send a letter in support of provincial crown land near Vincor being made available for a rear entrance to the new corrections facility. A public process is in motion because the land is part of a provincial park designation.
