
On December 06, 2012 the Regional GIS Unit working out of the Oliver Detachment in conjunction with the Penticton Detachment Drug Unit and uniformed members of the Oliver Detachment were successful in executing a Drug Search Warrant at an Oliver residence which culminated in the seizure of cash, 1.4 grams of cocaine (packaged for sale) and other items which will support one count of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking against a 69 year old male who as of this writing remains in custody.
In the early evening hours on December 06, 2012 RCMP responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on McKinney Road, near McCuddy Creek Road. The single Oliver resident driver did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. The accident was related to icy roads and should serve as a reminder of winter driving conditions to Oliver residents traveling toward Mt Baldy.
In the early afternoon on December 08, 2012 RCMP responded to a single vehicle motor vehicle crash in the area of 346th Avenue and 91st Street where a 33 year old Oliver resident operating a 2003 Chevrolet Malibu slid into a utility pole as a result of icy roads. The pole was virtually undamaged and the driver did not sustain any injuries.
On December 08, 2012 the Oliver RCMP responded to a Break Enter and Theft from a garage located on No 18 Road, near Oliver. The list of items that were stolen include: 2 Stihl chainsaws; numerous Mastercraft hand tools; 3 nail guns; and, a (1) crown stapler. The police investigation is ongoing and is assisted by the Penticton Forensic Identification Section.
