RECOMMENDATION:
1. That the matter of a proposed development application D12-08023.000 be deemed inconsistent with the Regional Growth Strategy be brought forward for reconsideration.
Roberts Rules states that no resolution shall be reconsidered more than once on the same question, nor shall a vote to reconsider be reconsidered.
Background: This is land matter involving a 12 unit subdivision of land just south of the Vaseux Lake corner – which is located adjacent to the Nature Trust and the foreshore of the lake. At the regular board – Directors voted in favour of NOT imposing RGS (Regional Growth Strategy) standards on the land.
This matter will have to go through a council of rural directors in the rezoning stage but if the matter is reconsidered – it could be stopped in its tracks.
Oliver’s rural director Allan Patton brought this matter back for reconsideration – if the vote to reconsider is passed – directors would study the issue over the Christmas season and debate it in January.
