On November 26, 2012 Oliver RCMP attended to a reported theft of 2 rings from a 65 year old Oliver resident where the suspect is believed to be a ‘handyman’ hired by the complainant to do work in her residence. The complainant is not able to provide a name for the person that was given access to her residence however, this incident has value in that it should serve to make our Community aware of the need to hire reputable contractors. Further, anyone who is provided access to your residence should be identified by picture ID in order to facilitate Police contact should a problem arise.
