On November 27, 2012 at approximately 8:30 PM the Oliver RCMP responded to a complaint of a Break and Enter of a Storage Yard at an Oliver business. The call was made by two local witnesses who observed a 35 year old male Oliver resident throwing property over the compound fence. This suspect was subsequently arrested and released on documents compelling him to appear in Penticton Provincial Court on January 30, 2013. Although the value of the items that the suspected thief were under $5,000 the Oliver Business Community is often victimized by this type of offence. The Oliver RCMP wishes to publicly acknowledge the support of the two witness who, while maintaining their personal safety by not directly confronting this suspected thief, took the time to protect their Community by calling the police. Support such as this goes a long way in continuing to sponsor the safe environment that we all enjoy.**
