Cst Sue HARPER (First Nations Policing – Oliver) recently attended a Provincial Aboriginal Policing Services ceremony in Vancouver and was one of four recipients of an Award for providing outstanding services in Aboriginal Policing specifically in the Oliver (Osoyoos Indian Band) and Keremeos (Lower Similkameen Indian Band).  This award speaks not only to the dedicated effort of Cst Harper but the healthy relationship with the RCMP that is sponsored by Chief Clarence LOUIE and the OIB Band Counsel.

On 23 November, 2012 the Oliver RCMP responded to a report of a Break Enter and Theft from the Fairview Golf Course.  At some point overnight some person(s) used bolt cutters to access golf carts (stored for the winter) and stole gas and batteries.  Local recycling depots can assist the RCMP by providing details of any person(s) who attend to their facility with more then a reasonable number of batteries.
