Oliver’s Transwest Helicopters has announced that it will be working on 2 Bell 412 helicopters at its brand new facility at the airport. These machines will be coming overland from Lafayette, Louisiana sometime this week (subject to border clearance) to be completely overhauled .
Transwest CEO Ernst-Ulrich Maas says his busy facility employs 17 people, a mix of regular staff and contract aviation engineers and pilots. In addition to the component overhaul shop at the Oliver airport – the company operates Bell 214B, Bell 412 and A Star 350 B2 helicopters. The company started up in 1958 with most years in the Fraser Valley coming to the Okanagan Valley last year.
