2 units of the Kiwanis Manor had to be evacuated recently when the sewer backed up in the building. Kiwanis spokesman Larry Larson says both residents had to be housed in a local motel. One will be returning to a vacant suite in the same building and the Society is working on the other resident’s long term housing needs.

A garbage bag was found to have been the culprit after being flushed down the toilet/drain. The sewage water has damaged floors, carpets and walls and the restoration is now in progress. The restoration work could take some time and the Society is hoping further problems are not discovered while inside the walls.
