In order to give adequate time to review the 2013 Municipal Budget – Oliver Town Council will start an open public session at 1pm Tuesday November 13th.
This more informal meeting is called the Committee of the Whole and is a good chance for the public to see the council in debate and action – grilling staff on planned expenditures and capital planning.
The agenda calls for:
2013 Sewer Operating and Capital Budget proposing a 1.5% increase in budget
2013 Water Operating and Capital Budget proposing a 4.2% increase in budget
Tax Revitalization Bylaw Discussion
Question period from audience re the agenda material. This meeting should last until at least 3pm prior to an In-camera Meeting just before the supper break.
Council is back in public session – televised at 7pm for its regular public meeting.

1. Purchase of land for Buchanan Road Water Well
2. Award of tender – McIntrye box culvert – canal replacement for highways expansion
3. Tendering on Flume #3 south of Gallagher Lake – higher cost of material
4. Delegation from Oliver Tourism Association ( Beth Garrish and Tony Munday ) annual update
5. Presentation by Bill Ross and Murray Soder – riverfront park – 1.6 miles on each side of river for habitat enhancement – birds and wildlife including wellness centres for locals and tourists using the hike and bike paths.
6. Bylaws 1330.3 and 1330.4 – Housekeeping matters to have Manufactured Home Parks conform to new Zoning bylaw
