Oliver Detachment RCMP have received complaints recently representing that an unknown male has been going door to door locally (similar complaints in Osoyoos) identifying himself as a canvasser for the Heart & Stroke Foundation.  Although there are many legitimate canvassers working on behalf of legitimate philanthropic / humanitarian organizations there are also those that would prey on the goodwill of others in an effort to line their own pockets.

If members of our community are unsure as to the legitimacy of the canvasser please contact either the local RCMP or the specific organization.  As a note, all legitimate canvassers should have ID related to the Organization that they represent and, a contact number that the Public can access for confirmation
