Over the last week several more Graffiti tagging’s have occurred in Osoyoos. Police are actively investigating this vandalism to identify and charge the culprit.
The Osoyoos RCMP and Citizens on Patrol made extra patrols this Halloween. The night was not overly busy from a Policing perspective with some liquor and fireworks seizures made. The exception was a 2009 Black Audi S5 bearing BC Licence Plate 680-PPH was stolen from 7200 Cottonwood.
On November 2nd, at approximately 9:28 am, the Osoyoos RCMP were called by the Osoyoos Fire Department to assist with traffic control on 97th St near 146th Ave with a vehicle fire. A 2002 Dodge Ram pickup truck being driven was pulled over when smoke was seen coming from under the hood. The truck caught fire and was dealt with by the Fire Department.
On November 3rd, an Osoyoos RCMP member on patrol observed a 2002 Monte Carlo from Ontario traveling at an excessive rate of speed causing a near-miss collision. Police stopped the car and found it also to be uninsured. The 41 year old female from Thunder Bay, Ontario, was charged for Excessive Speeding, and No Insurance and her car was impounded for 7 days.
On November 4th, at 2:24 am, US Border Patrol called the RCMP and reported 2 subjects had jumped the Border into Canada. An extensive search was done by General Duty and Border Enforcement RCMP members but the Border Jumpers were not located.
On November 4th, at 10:32 am, Police received a report that the sign to the Satary Stables on 107th St, Osoyoos had been damaged overnight. This has happened before. Anyone with information on this or any other crime in Osoyoos is encouraged to contact the Osoyoos RCMP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
