Eastlink Weekend Tourament at the Oliver Curling Centre.

This past weekend saw the Eastlink Curling Center rocking to the rafters. The 2 day event saw 16 teams of all abilities competing in the first annual Eastlink Challenge Bonspiel. Teams were mixed with all abilities, experienced and new curlers, regular deliveries and a growing number delivering their rocks with sticks, with lots of prizes, fun and other activities. The number of new faces in the club and new people taking up the game was really encouraging. The final games will be featured over the next week on our local Community Channel 18.

Winners of the event  were the Arbor Crest team – from left to right Cathy (skip) and Rod Pidduck, Fred Nahornoff, and Phyllis Wilson.

As well, the curlers contributed to the Oliver Food Bank with a box full of food items and $580 in cash. JIm Oulette from the food bank was on hand to recieve the donation.
