Gwen Miller – volunteer of the year

Gwen Miller of Nk’Mip Canyon Desert Golf was honoured with the prestigious Volunteer of the Year Award from British Columbia Golf.

Barb Silvester, Director of British Columbia Golf presented the award at the annual Fall Meeting of the Zone Two Ladies Section held in Kelowna on Oct. 22nd. In her speech Barb read excerpts from letters written by Gwen’s friends and fellow golfers. Gwen has been a major contributor in the Ladies Section of Nk’Mip Canyon Desert Golf, she has mentored players and executive members, she has been the Ladies Club Champion and she has run the Ladies Tournament many times.  Gwen has also been a strong supporter of Zone Two and has encouraged other golfers to join her with their support.

Members of Nk’Mip surprised Gwen during the ceremony as they wished to show their support of this amazing woman who truly deserves the award that she received.
