An application to amend the interior side setback has made it through the Oliver APC and will move on to the RDOS board in Penticton.
Applicant South Okanagan Ventures Limited (Swaranjit Chahal) sought to have a 1.5 meter uniform setback and a O.O meter setback for accessory building. He won half of what he wanted. The APC will recommend the uniform setback but will not allow the O.O meter setback on sheds and other ancilliary structures.
The applicant said the current zoning bylaw doesn’t address current housing standards and this would be a solution to a 40 year old problem. The subject property is 8.8 hectares west of Highway 97 at Gallagher Lake. The development is a two phased project of 100 modular homes.
The old zoning required a 3.0 meter setback on one side and 1.5 meters on the otherside.
