Ruth Friesen passed away peacefully at the Sunnybank Centre, on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at the age of 90 years. Predeceased by her loving husband Adam. Lovingly remembered by her nephews and nieces, Rhonda, Wanda, Alan, Mable, Edith, Doug, Joyce, Margaret, Charles, Glen, Carol, Gerald, Judy, Larry and Joan all from BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan; sister-in-law Laura Weippert (Karl); brother-in-law John Griffin (Rose) Steinke. Predeceased by siblings, Art Steinke, Elsie Griffin, Fred Steinke, Easter Steinke and Roy Steinke. Ruth worked as a cashier in Regina for many years. Later her husband Adam and herself bought a Cat and put it to work clearing land, digging basements and whatever else needed digging. When things broke down, Helen was the one who fixed it. Ruth loved to garden and was a great cook. She also loved to sew and always made her own clothes. She enjoyed the dances and playing cards at the Oliver Senior Centre. Ruth was always there to give anyone a helping hand. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 11 a.m., in the Chapel of Graham Funeral Home. Rev. Heather Burton will officiate. Interment Oliver Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Oliver Seniors Centre, Airport Road. Arrangements entrusted to Graham Funeral Home, 5920 Kootenay Street, Oliver B.C. (250) 498-3833.
