Ontario’s Premier Dalton McGuinty stated to mainstream media in September of 2010 that it was a mistake for Ontario to allow smart meters as they have not lived up to the promises of greater efficiency or economy. (Toronto Sun Sept. 18, 2010)

80% of Toronto consumers polled by the CBC who have received invoices from newly installed smart meters said their bills were higher, many double and some triple previous billings.
