What to do with the grassy knoll on Fairview Heights?
Today it is campers, a few weeks ago it was people with fireworks that started a fire that could have gone out of control and reached two nearby houses. More importantly this sensitive area needs to be fenced off to prevent the amount of garbage being deposited. Ernie Dumais says a good fence could be installed on the south east side of Knippelberg Rd with walker entrances for naturalists and those visiting for photographs – but good signage would tell the story of why a fence was built: no campfires, no garbage, no fireworks, no motorized vehicles.
Dumais says he will contact a number of government agencies and others that help protect nature.
