Call from dispatch at 2:56 pm asking for help with grass fire near Sundial Rd. Fire was actually about a mile to the south adjacent to the Kennedy ranch property.
Both the OK Falls and Oliver Fire Departments responded. Citizens initially made the first attack as the fire was in a number of trees that flared quickly spreading to other grass and trees.
The water bomber above dumped a load of retardant on the 2 hectare fire about 7 miles north of Oliver and knocked it back allowing fire crews from the Ministry of Forests and the two fire departments to apply all the water they could on the fenced off nature preserve east of the highway.
Thanks to all the crews. Fast action preventing a more serious situation.
