According to the Oliver Fire Department, an aerial attack has knocked the fire down with helicopters working on hot spots. Members who briefly left the immediate area to allow for the bombing with retardant are now going back to help contain the blaze that started at about 3 PM adjacent to the highway on the east side opposite McIntrye Bluff.
Police and EMS standing by. No word on traffic flow yet. At one point about 50 cars held back on either side of the fire – north and south.
