On Sept 10th, RCMP received a report that a house on Sasquatch Trail had been broken into and a number of items had been stolen. If anyone has information on this crime please contact the Osoyoos RCMP.
On Sept 12th, Police responded to a pedestrian / motor vehicle accident onMain St and 85 St in Osoyoos. BC Ambulance gave care to the 22 year old female pedestrian from Osoyoos who had been struck in the lower leg by the car. Investigation revealed that the 24 year old female driver of the car also from Osoyoos, had been blinded by the rising sun directly in front of her at the time and had not seen the pedestrian in the intersection. Luckily the vehicle was traveling at a slow speed or the accident could have been much worse. The injured female was taken to hospital and later released with severe bruising and pain.
On Sept 14th, an Osoyoos RCMP member made inquiries for Steven BUSBY fromPenticton who was subject of an outstanding arrest warrant. While speaking to a female and male who gave a different name the Police Officer noted the male had tattoos which matched BUSBY’s description. BUSBY was arrested and transported toPenticton to face his arrest warrant and he now faces and addition Obstruct Police Officer charge for giving a false name.
On Sept 16th, at 11:20 pm, Police responded to the Watermark Resort to a report of approximately 7-8 adults on the beach causing a disturbance by drinking, yelling and screaming. Police attended and destroyed all the liquor in possession of the group and 2 non residents were being issued liquor violation tickets when the Police were called away to fight in progress. Although no tickets were issued the group dispersed.
On Sept 16th, between 11:20 pm and 12:30 am, RCMP responded to the Owl Pub for an altercation between an intoxicated male and bar staff. The male had been ejected from the Pub and for being intoxicated and unruly and attempted to return. Although told by Police to go home the 45 year old Osoyoos male went to the Sage Pub and another fight ensued with the same staff member from earlier. Police attended and the male was arrested for causing a disturbance by fighting and being drunk in a public place. He was lodged in cells until sober.
