The Desert Hills development in the upper Rockcliffe area has received first and second reading. This comprehensive development will now go to a public hearing in October – with two dates suggested October 10 or 11th. All residents of the Rockcliffe area will be notified by mail.
5. Council gave instructions to staff to sign agreement on reconstruction of canal on Highway 97 near McIntrye Dam to allow for a BC government passing lane project. The agreement is to have this under-road work done by April 1 of 2013 prior to the spring irrigation season. The cost is 1.45 million dollars and it will be paid for by the Ministry of Highways. When the road project will proceed is still up in the air.
6. Next regular council meeting September 24 has been cancelled as most members of council will be in Victoria for the Union of BC Municipalities annual convention. Next meeting is October 9th.
