Oliver Town Council voted last February in favour of a Moratorium on the proposed Fortis Smart meters. There are now 54 B.C. Councils who have passed motions to stop the Installation of Smart Meters. There is enough Scientific research available now from many experts around the world to verify that Smart meters are a big experiment imposed on a very large number of people. Many people are complaining of headaches, ringing in their ears, heart palpitations, brain fog and insomnia. The long term effects remain to be seen. Many Counties in California have demanded that the meters be removed and they have been successful.
These meters will radiate your home and you every three minutes non-stop, 24 hours a day. The microwaves will then permeate your whole neighbourhood affecting all your neighbours as well. You can never turn them off!. I have put a lock on my meter. Fortis will tell you that they will turn your power off, however, they cannot legally do this so don’t believe them. This hasn’t happened elsewhere and thousands of meterlocks have been used in the BC Hydro area.
Huge increases in power bills, as high as 30-50%, have been reported in areas including Ontario and California. This is shocking. The life span of smart meters is 10-15 years. Then they will have to be replaced at our cost. My Analog meter is still doing well after 35 years and can be replaced with a new Analog meter which is far cheaper. More than five fires have been started this summer by the new installed Smart meters in the Vancouver area and have damaged or demolished homes in the Vancouver area this summer. Check with your Insurance Company on how this will affect your coverage.
Fortis has ignored all of this. It seems they are more concerned with making money for their shareholders or perhaps they are just puppets being directed by BC Hydro and the larger Corporations who will benefit financially. How can they ignore the collected scientific data of the World Health Organization (WHO) that has declared that this type of Radio-frequency microwave radiation is a possible carcinogen.
The BC Utilities Commission says that they need to hear your comments, now that Fortis has applied for permission to install these meters in our homes. BCUC’s decision will consider all public input. So read everything you can and watch the excellent videos listed below of scientists and experts speaking of their concerns. We all need to be concerned and aware. We have a chance to stop this in the Fortis area.
