Hester Creek Estate Winery confirmed today that it will be funding the Oliver Elementary School – salad bar programme starting in October.

The salad bar programme began a number of years ago bringing local produce and healthy foods to children in primary and elementary school.

The programme starts October 11 at OES and runs twice a week for 28 weeks – ending May 30.

More funding is coming from an event at Hester Creek. The 1st annual Garlic Festival will be held Saturday September 29th – 11am to 4pm sponsored in part by Terrafina at Hester Creek. Admission by donation with proceeds to the OES Lunch programme.

The Garlic Festival features singer/guitarist Aidan Mayes, garlic growers, foot carts, food and wine, local – organic bread and artisans.
