Talking about incorporation at Okanagan Falls has gone on for a long time and citizens have turned down the idea at least twice.
RDOS Area D Director, Tom Siddon, told the regional board today that the ministry of municipal affairs will be visiting the area October 16th for an old fashion Town Hall meeting to gauge the support of the citizens and taxpayers.
Siddon says the current plan is for a small manageable town centre containing about 2000 people. That area would haveĀ a municipal government supervising a fire department, a water utility and a newly upgraded sewer system. This would allow a council to help plan the community and plot its future.
The next step is a study to bring all the current facts together. Siddon says former Director Bill Schwarz wants to help out with a citizens committee to rally support for taxpayer assent on the issue.
