Drop structure 13 (seen at top of picture) at the northern border of the Town of Oliver on Okanagan River is set to be modified next month and during that process – the foot bridge will be closed to the public.
A public meeting on the drop structure will be held on Tuesday August 28, 7pm Room 1 Oliver Community Hall.
Project spokesman Lee McFadyen says a couple of buttresses will be removed from the drop structure to make it easier for fish to swim up stream. 12 agencies are involved in the project with work to begin in September if all goes well with river levels.
