Princeton elects new Mayor, new councillor in by-election

Former councillor Fred Armitage elected Saturday as Princeton’s new Chief Councillor after the May 4th death of Mayor Fred Thomas.

Armitage received 146 in the advance poll with 402 on election night. His competitor, Rosemary Doughty received 44 in the advance poll and 126 on Saturday. Armitage elected 548 to 170.

When Armitage stepped down to run he opened a new spot on council. Rob Rubis was defeated by Doug Pateman for that seat 436 to 282.
