DONATES $3000.00
On August 16, 2012 the Oliver Sports & Recreation Society received a donation of $3000.00 from the Nk’Mip Canyon Black & White Scramble to support events for local children.
This years funding will be used to continue the successful fall program for Floor Hockey and the continued program for girls aged 11 – 14 years that will focus on physical activity, self-esteem building and leadership by removing barriers such as registration fees or transportation costs and providing a variety of different activities chosen by participants.
Katie Eaton, the Oliver Parks and Recreation representative also presented a card to the committee made by the girls program thanking the Black & White Tournament for their continued support to their program.

The Tournament Committee (Debbie Brunelle, Anne Dalziel, Penny Rivera, Lynn Hoffman, & Irene Lussier) wish to extend its sincere thanks for the wonderful support of the Oliver and surrounding business communities and our major sponsor – the Elk’s Lodge #267, without which, this tournament could not have happened.
The real winners are the children of Oliver who will benefit from a donation to the Oliver Recreation Department to support sporting events for children who may not otherwise be able to afford them.
