Osoyoos RCMP General Media Release  

The August Long Weekend was busy for Police with a number of alcohol related incidents. Extra Police were on hand to make foot, bicycle, and boat patrols over the weekend. There continues to be thefts from unlocked vehicles. Please remember to remove valuables from vehicles and lock your cars and homes over night.

On August 2, 2012, Police received a report that an unlocked vehicle on Willow Crescent was again rummaged through overnight.

On August 5th, 2012 At 1:54 am, RCMP members conducting a road check located a female driver who had consumed alcohol. The investigation led to the 44 year old female from Vancouver receiving a Driving Prohibition and her car was impounded for 3 days.

On August 5th, 2012, while on foot patrol by the Sage Pub a pickup truck was observed by Police driving fast on Cottonwood Drive. Police motioned for the vehicle to stop and spoke with the Driver who had been smoking marihuana and had consumed alcohol. The resulting investigation led to the 18 year old male Driver from Osoyoos receiving a driving prohibition and the vehicle being impounded for 3 days.

On August 5, 2012, Police conducted a traffic stop of a Lincoln Navigator after the vehicle was seen trying to avoid a Police road check. The Driver of the vehicle was noted to have been drinking and open liquor was observed in the vehicle. The Police investigation resulted in the 31 year old male from Delta receiving a 90 day Driving Prohibition and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

On August 4th, 2012 at 10:10 pm, a Lincoln Towncar from Washington State was stopped at a Police road check and Police noted the Driver had been consuming alcohol. The resulting Police investigation led to the 48 year old male Driver from Washington State receiving a Driving Prohibition his car was impounded for 3 days.

On August 6th, 2012 at 7:23 pm, Police received a call that sometime between 4:30 and 6:00 pm, some one entered the unlocked back door of a residence on the 8300 block of Main St and stole an Apple MacBook.
