Kathryn Joyce Harkness of Osoyoos, BC passed away surrounded by loving family at McKinney Place Extended Care on Monday, July 30, 2012 at the age of 87 years. Kathryn will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her sister Jeannie of Otter Lake, QB, her daughters, Brenda (Ed) Shugalo of Oliver, Linda Tweedy of Osoyoos, and Kathy (Ron) Arrigoni of Oroville, Washington as well as her many adopted children, thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Kathryn was predeceased by her husband William Ray Harkness, son in-law Greg Tweedy, her three brothers George, Atton, and Russell, and sister Betty. Kathryn was a long time member of the Osoyoos Christian Centre. Kaye loved reading her Bible and praying. She enjoyed salmon fishing on Vancouver Island with her husband, shopping trips to Spokane with her family, and a wonderful trip to Israel with Crossroads Ministry. Kaye was a devoted wife for 48 years, a loving mother and nanny. She will be fondly remembered sitting in her window chair, where she prayed and gave her friendly wave to passersby. Kaye’s home was a “house of refuge” to countless people whom she took in and loved on. A Funeral Celebration was held at the Osoyoos Christian Centre on Saturday August 4, 2012 at 2:00 P.M.
