In the middle of the summer recess, the Town of Oliver, has called an open special council meeting to get borrowing authority for a loan of $520 thousand.
The meeting was held Wednesday at 1pm with Acting Mayor Maureen Doerr in the chair.
The motion that Bylaw 1323 be given a fourth and final reading and council approve the borrowing of above stated amount for the 2012 Water Capital Projects and that the RDOS be requested to consent to this borrowing from the Municipal Finance Authority over a ten year period.
Projects include: The rehabilitation of Flume 3 near Gallagher Lake, the construction of chlorination improvements at the Rockcliffe and Tucelnuit wells, initial stages of drilling for a new well at Buchanan Rd. and the completion of Phase 2 of water twinning.
