Boulevard & Park Trees – approximately 15 trees removed or cleaned up and maybe more still. This includes several trees from private residences that have also fell onto roadways and required clean-up.
Banners – 16 banners damaged or missing. Associated hardware with banners will need replacement as well.
Signs – numerous street signs damaged. Some hardware replacement and fixing.
Roads – all roads will need to be swept (debri and gravel) and some road shoulder repair required due to the rain. This will be on-going until the end of the week. We need some shoulder repairs because of heavy rains.
Structures – 1 fibre glass insulated shed for rural pump house will need to be replaced.
Minor damages to buildings – we need to do some roof repairs.
Several alarms sent out through our ‘supervisory control and data acquisition’ (SCADA) system that monitors our water and sewer systems. These are radio controlled and we experienced several problems because of the high winds. We also had to send people to clean and monitor the irrigation canal system (for several hours), to make sure all vegetation was cleared away at all strategic areas that could cause a back-up or flooding.
Town crews helped put out barricades, delineators and pylons for any other obstacles or problem areas on roadways – mostly for downed power and telecommunication lines around Town.
