
More and more women are driving for show and putting for dough – all to raise money in the fight against breast cancer. On Saturday July 28th the Nk’Mip Canyon Desert Golf in Oliver will be hosting one of Golf Canada’s Golf Fore the Cure fundraising events to raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society.
Cathryn Pidduck, Golf Fore the Cure organizer for the Nk’Mip Canyon Desert Golf is eager to see lots of people participating in the event this weekend.
The event is open to the public and both women and men are welcome to participate. The Saturday July 28th tournament begins with a 9 am shotgun. The cost for this 18-hole fun tournament is $75 for non-members, which includes 18 holes of golf, meal and $25 donation to the Canadian cancer society with a tax receipt. Member of the golf club can participate for $25 and raise pledges towards the Cancer Society. Registration for the tournament can be made by calling the club’s pro shop at 250-498-2880.
With the help of volunteers across the country in the past eight years Golf Fore the Cure has exposed more than 76,000 women to the game of golf. These women have been able to raise over $3.8 million towards the fight against breast cancer.
