Numerous nocturnal thefts from coolers / campsites are being reported by area campgrounds. These thefts can be attributed both to local resident youth and to some of the transient workers who pass through the South Okanagan every summer. Local residents are asked to watch out for suspicious activity and contact the RCMP Detachment accordingly. Campground owners are also asked to ensure that their clients are continually updated on this concern.

On July 20th, 2012 between 14:42 and 15:14 Hours the Oliver RCMP Detachment and other emergency services agencies responded to approximately 20 separate requests for service generated as a result of the severe weather. The Oliver Detachment wishes to convey their appreciation to all support agencies for the cooperative effort that was maintained during this significant event.
