Ibou Niang prepares “break-fast” during the first night of Ramadan–the Islamic month of fasting from dawn till dusk–which began on Friday evening. Ibou is one of fifteen Senegalese university students studying in Quebec, presently picking cherries in Oliver. Ibou, like nearly all the others, is an engineering student. He will complete his degree next year.
