It’s 6am – the air is fresh, no sun yet but enough light to picture a few locations I missed yesterday afternoon in the storm.
A few notes – I saw trees down on three houses – there may be more, there are many trees uprooted and some buildings are damaged. The worst tree damage that scared the most people was at Tucelnuit’s Lakeside Resort. Southside BuildingĀ Supplies had a whirlwind with the roof to the store lifting up and debris is strewn around the lot.
Police, fire, utility and town crews kept busy for most of the afternoon with lots of excess water pooling, power poles pulled over because of tree falls.
You will see a lot debris on the roads for several days.
Police say no one injured or hurt badly. A couple of seniors assisted, a person on a scooter rescued from the hike and bike path, a small grass fire at Vincor caused by lightning and a fire was spotted above Loose Bat but theĀ hills are fairly damp.
A lot of cleanup needed around town – fences to be mended, garden sheds to be re-erected, a lot of tree debris to be picked up. Many tree branches broke off and trees on the ground that will be cut up and hauled away shortly.
